Alright, folks.  I'm trying to get a few photos on the blog, but at the internet cafe, it is taking way too long to try to get them on the blog. (Upload is the term, I think?)  So, I guess we may have to wait until we get our internet going again at the school house.

We are doing well.  It's starting to warm up a bit more here.  And not cool down as much at night!  That makes a big difference.

We are all doing well.  Life here is beginning to feel "normal" a bit, I suppose.  Already not many things come to mind to share on here that you may find interesting because we getting used to things here.  Isn't it normal to have turkeys and chickens walking just a few feet away from you as you go into the school house to teach your child for the day?  Isn't it normal to see donkeys, pigs, and goats slowly moving down the street (or in front of your vehicle) as you drive through town?

Note:  If it seems we have not gotten your email, you might check the size.  I am having to delete a very small number of emails we receive because they are too large (often a video, for example).  They hang up the rest of the emails coming through.

I'm at the internet cafe again.  Thanks for all the emails you all send our way.  We enjoy them, for sure.  We are still not sure at what point we will have internet again "closer to home."  I'm feeling good-12 weeks along now.  Still fatigued, but that goes with the territory.  School is going well with Colt.  Abigail is such fun.  (Hopefully I'll get a photo up soon?)  Joel is doing well, working a lot, but still makes time for us.

I'll be able to blog much easier again once we have internet at the school again.  So, just keep hangin' in there with us!  Thanks for your prayers.

Hi

Still no internet at the school house.  We are trying to do a lot of surfing all at once at the internet cafe.  But email seems stuck. I think it's a video causing the other 67 emails waiting to come into our inbox to get hung up!  At least all of ours went out while here.  Could be a couple of weeks, no telling, still that we have no internet.

Things are going well.  Abigail is growing.  Colt is doing well in school.  He and Benton are building a fort and enjoying playing outside.  Joel is working a lot at the hospital.  We continue to get settled into our home.

If I have time, I will post more later.  But I want to be sure this at least gets posted.  I know, I need to take new pics and post them!

Internet is Down

We are doing great. The internet is down at the school house and won't be up until next Friay at the earliest. It could take longer. I am using an internet cafe here in Nalerigu to send this. Our mobile phone is working. The number is: 0241892776. You would need the international code before that. It would be cheaper with an international phone card, as well. Texts go through, also. Since I am using a computer here at the internet cafe I won't send emails b/c of possible virus/security issues. Thanks a bunch!

Hi.  We are doing well.  I know we are not posting as much now and not emailing a lot, either.  We are still very busy getting settled in our house.  There is still much to do there.  And meal prep takes a long time.  We were down to our last loaf of bread so I needed to make bread today.  We prefer this to the bread you can buy in town here.  I started back to teaching on Friday and am chasing Abigail a lot, as well.  Not to mention I have the energy level of a pregnant woman, which means getting a bit of a rest when I can.  And we can only get on the internet by coming to the school house now.  Everything is really going well.  We are great.  I am not in the least complaining.  Only trying to give you a clearer picture of our daily lives so you will get why you don't hear from us as much now.

It also seems there is a misunderstanding about children at our door begging for food.   A blind man asked for food on Christmas Eve and I happily gave him some as he cannot provide for himself and his children are too young to provide for him yet.  The children and adults that come to the door daily are those selling produce and those wanting to play with Colt (and his basketball).  There are none that come asking for food.  We are doing fine with it all.  We do have to decide/discern how to handle new situations as they arise.  But we are truly doing great.  No huge problems at all.

I got the projector set up so Joel wants to have a movie night with his wife!  So, I'm closing now.  Thanks for your prayers.  We love hearing from you.

We're In!

Last night was the first night we slept at our house.  We are all so glad to finally be in it.  Our things aren't spread out between two places anymore.  We don't have internet at the house, so we come to the school house for that.  We still have a lot to unpack and get settled at the house.  Joel and I will go to Tamale tomorrow to get supplies with Jane and Elisabeth.  He has taken some time off this week to help us get moved and settled since there are quite a few volunteer doctors here right now. It has been very nice. Then Friday I'll start back to school with Colt.

I'm nearly 10 weeks pregnant now and feeling well overall.  Nothing new to report there.  Thanks for your prayers for us in every way.

We did start Abigail on an anitbiotic again for her ears.  She has had such trouble with ear infections the last few months.

Joel, Benton, and Colt set up Colt's Christmas gift in the backyard today.  I need to take pictures of them using the batting cage so you all can see.

Needless to say I am not caught up on emails in the least.  Maybe someday?

We love you all, miss you, and thank you for your prayers and emails.

Hang in There

Ok, loyal blog followers!  Hang in there.  We are getting things ready to move soon, though there are still a few things that need to be set up, like a water filter (you don't drink the water from the tap here), etc. before we can move in.  We are getting closer, though.  We are trying to put the former missionaries' things away before we move in with Abigail, too, so she won't be able to get into as much.  She's a walking, very busy girl!

I did dig out the cable for the camera so maybe soon I'll put some more photos on line.  Would like to wait and post some before and after pics of the house after we are more moved in.

Meal prep also takes time away.  Not many fast meals around here.  We appreciate the help we have, for sure.  But I do still do some a good amount of meal prep most days one way or another.

I will get to a little more blogging once we are moved in.  We are planning to do more at the house tomorrow, hopefully.
